In this episode to mark World Autism Awareness Day 2025, Ali and Ali Golding discuss how movement helps all children with their development and how it is a powerful tool for those children and young people who have developmental delays, additional needs and are on the autistic spectrum. There are useful references on how parents / families / educators can how a child is feeling and learning by playing close attention to how they move and how to support them.
MEET ALI'S SPECIAL GUEST - ALI GOLDING
FOUNDER/DIRECTOR OF MOVEMENTWORKS® AND DANCE MOVEMENT EXPERT
Ali is the Founder and Director of MovementWorks®, a charity offering movement education of the highest quality. She is a highly qualified and experienced dance professional, dance movement scientist, researcher, lecturer and teacher. She holds an MSc in Dance Science, a PG Cert in Special Educational Needs and is trained to evaluate and teach Neurophysical Psychology within an educational setting.
In addition, Ali has a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre and over 30 years experience as a professional choreographer highlighting her expertise in the creation and skilled observation of movement. As well as a number of academic articles, Ali has contributed professional perspectives on national platforms including dance and education publications, Early Arts UK and The Royal Society of Arts and given presentations at 'MOVE IT’ National Dance Event, British College of Occupational Therapists Conference, Plymouth University Autism and Alternative Therapies Conference, The National Autism Show ( in addition to MovementWorks special feature at the show ) , The National Autistic Society Autism-Europe International Congress, 'GOOGLE TMInnovation', TES SEN Show, the Expressive Arts Summit, The World Conference of Movement and Cognition at Harvard Medical School and a regular contrbutor to New York University’s ASD NEST Project, the largest inclusion programme in New York City Public Schools.
Ali is a postgraduate professional and research associate of the charity MEfA (Montessori Education for Autism) and an associate artist of The Royal Academy Of Dance.
