AM TC Header - Ben the Behaviour

with optional Observation, Assessement and Planning

Behaviour is communication and every interaction with a child is telling us something about what they need…from us, from what our school or setting offers them and from the environment around them. Every interaction is an opportunity to learn, for us and , if we get it right, for them.

‘Knowing what they need to help them succeed’ is the key to this. Looking beneath the behaviour helps us to see the struggles- and understand what Self-Regulation really means. This training gives you the tools to use to be able to spot the struggles and match the solutions- based on what that child needs right now.

Focusing on one child today, with or without SEND, you will leave able to:

  • Build robust and effective systems to reflect on and connect with a child whose behaviour has become challenging.
  • Spot the specific struggles of children and feel confident to find the strategies to support these
  • Understand the importance of physical and sensory needs and how to plan ahead for these
  • Better understand the neuroscience behind some of our children’s anxieties and behaviours
  • Feel confident in the complexities of co-regulation, co-operation and connection

With Ali McClure’s ‘Simply Brilliant’ strategies leaving a lasting legacy and helping children to shine, these strategies, as simple as they may seem help us to see the depth, to pinpoint the problem and to work with the child and the adults around them to find the steps and solutions that will help that child be successful- and shine

Whether a child has special needs or is simply going through a tricky time, this thought–provoking course will leave you with all you need - simple enough to share in a few seconds, but based on sound evidence, proven impact and years of experience as a SENCo, International author and consultant and lived experience of a range of neurodiversities.

This interactive session gets beneath the behaviour empowering us to challenge our choices, helping us to be proactive and really know why we are choosing to support and respond to children’s behaviour in the way we are.

Building Brilliant Behaviour is a long and ongoing journey. This course will leave you with simple solutions but an appetite to dive deeper and really understand what is happening when behaviour becomes challenging. Embed these strategies into your ‘everyday’ and you will soon see how our reflections and responses can make a real difference to the lives and learning of our children.
